Is there any rhyme or reason as to which models Omega decided to print Chronometer vs Chronometre? ::confused2::

Yes. It is mostly an old vs new thing. You need to go back and re-read Desmond's PDFs. You obviously missed some:D

Of course it is always possible that Gator will feel sorry for you and spill the beans, but I won't :p

I don't recall the RE spelling post 1960. As far as automatic Constellations, it was mostly on caliber 504 models - but not all 504's.

Like I always tell Hoi...when it comes to vintage Omega, there are no real rules.

Constellations made before 1958 should have -RE. 1958 and 1959 were transition years. Watches made those years can have either spelling based on the reference and style. Beginning in 1960, all Constellations have -ER spellings.

I'm sure someone out there has the exception to the above.

    Nothing surprises me anymore.

Most if not all the 505s I have seen are RE. 504 I have seen legit examples of RE and ER. Anything before these two references should be RE and anything after should be ER.

You still have to read the rest of Desmond's PDF papers if you want to pass your midterms :whipped:

    ...... and I never agree :D

To me, learning vintage omega is like learning French, you should learn all the grammar rules and the exceptions, the regular verbes and the irregulars etc...
Anybody who knows these wins the game.
