So here’s a submariner I found online. It looks all good to me, but of course I wanted a few more opinions. If it is authentic, as I suspect, what do you think is a fair price for this?I really don’t want to overpay as you might imagine. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The good thing: looks authentic.
The bad thing: R Series is 1987, this one had it's dial replaced during service. So you would be stuck between vintage and not so authentic.

I see, I guess it works out the guy who was selling it seems more and more like he’s trying to scam me...

Anywho, I’m also interested in this gmt master. Seller wants 6000$. I don’t see these gmt masters that often so I’m a bit unsure if it’s worth it? Any thoughts?

And his asking price was 4K. Something was definitely wrong...

I sold one in near mint condition and resold it for $5,900 with box & papers.

Best of luck!

Request additional photos, compare the dial & case to another photo online you know is real.
