I can't for the life of me identify this watch for my father. Help!

Greetings to all from Portugal,

I need some help identifying a watch for my father, because he can't find any information about it on the internet and, when he asked for my help (I don't understand a thing about watches), neither could I...

He bought it many years ago (Euro didn't even exist yet) and he can't exactly remeber for how much. However, he bought it from a normal jewelry that, as a generic small one, didn't particulary specialized in watches, it just happened to have that one at that time and my father liked it.

The dial of the the watch identifies it as an Omega Constellation, but I've never seen anything of the sort: The dial sits interily on the bracelet (supposedely is all gold, which i believe just because of the weight), the dial is actually smaller than the width of the bracelet. Also, the dial is square.

I've been only able to find a picture of one on a site that honestly doesn't look all that trustworthy and has almost no information about it:

Is this legit? If so, what exatly is it?

Thank you all for your help

G'day from Australia.

What a coincidence, my Facebook memories thing just popped up this morning to remind me that exactly three years ago I was having Portuguese sardines for lunch at an outdoor restaurant, the Armazém do Peixe in Afurada.

It seems so long ago now 🙁.

Anyway, on to your watch.

I suspect that it may be a reference BA 353.013.

Here is a previous post with an example of the watch, however we cannot be sure that is your watch unless we have nice clear pictures to assess.

Cheers
Jim

Welcome to OF 👍 - nice dress watch.

You could have a play around in Omega’s vintage watch section, though it does have many gaps: https://www.omegawatches.com/vintag...watch_functions=4129&v_watches_watchcase=2553

Alternatively you could have a watchmaker take the back off as the reference number will be on the caseback

Hi there,

Thanks for the help.

That's just it: Taking into account the first reply, I did confirm other instances on the internet where it was indeed indentified as BA 353.013. Buuuut, it does not appear on the Omega website

Does my father have the "ugly duckling" of omega watches history or what? XD

One of them, but it appears to be gold, so not all is lost!

Hello,

Thank you very much for the help!

It is indeed that one! By that references i was able to find other instances on the internet where it was identified by that reference Although it isn't listed on the Omega website

Hi. True ahah and, knowing my father, he will keep it until it's probably the only one left in the world xD

Don't worry, a lot of references aren't listed on the Omega website.

Cool watch, definitely a bit of a eye-catcher back in its day!

Do you have a photo of your fathers actual watch? I think we’d all love to see it.

Omegas website is missing many many references. Completely normal to have it not there.

Had the same watch in 18k gold. It was melted because I just could not bring myself to ever wear it
