I absolutely hated my Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial bracelet!

The center polished links drove me crazy! Fingerprints, smudges, and it looked way to "uppity" for the vintage inspired piece. Reminded me of a Rolex bracelet, and for me just didn't work. I swapped for a leather band which looked really nice, but I like some steel on the wrist. So, I sent the original off to my watchmaker for a re-set. After a full brushed finish was applied, I am loving the result. I think it fits the look and style I wanted to achieve. No more high maintenance polishing every 2 minutes. (Hmmmm, maybe I'm OCD :cautious:)

At any rate, here's the result:

What an improvement! You're right - the vintage look of the watch is much better with the uniform bracelet.

Agree, looks much better. I just got mine back from the OB, as I hated seeing those micro scratches. But unfortunately I had them leave center links polished.

Oh yes, that looks so much better!

Can't see the sides though; are they polished or brushed?

Apologies if it is an impolite question but how much did it cost to get it refinished?

The sides are brushed as well. Makes a huge difference, even in the appearance of the watch.

My watchmaker charged me $30 to do it. Money well spent IMHO!

Love the bracelet, much better vintage look. Have you thought about having the lugs brushed as well to match the bracelet and end links?

No, I don't want to mess with the originality of the watch and with the sides of the 300 already being brushed, it offers a nice tie-in to the bracelet.

I don't know why Omega and Rolex (2 popular brands) have polished center links....too blinky for most WIS.

PCLs were the main reason that I didn't buy the SM300 immediately after it came on the market, but I couldn't resist and bought one last year. After some months I have to admit that especially the PCLs have grown on me and I do like the appearance of the bracelet very much. The combination of the polished and brushed lugs together with the bracelet is very nice and gives something special to the SM. To each his own.

Just spoke my OB and they want £175 to brush the centre links (not going to happen)
Does anyone in the U.K. London would be ideal, know where this can be done at a reasonable price!
Sorry to jump on an old thread

I owned a 300MC with brushed center links because I thought polished was too much, but it just took away from the overall look of the watch too much. I ended up with the original PCLs and like it much better. The watches just pops more and it brings out the polished parts of the case. I wouldn’t have thought Ibwould like it better, but i think OMEGA nailed it as it originally was. Either way, brushed or polished, this is such an amazing watch. I can’t get enough of it.

I do prefer the not blinding me brushed finish. I tend to ride with mind and not need more glare. beautiful either way though.

I do have the same 300 co-axial and I'm also debating the brushed vs not brushed effect. I should enquire at my local AD in Paris. The picture looks great though. How long did it take to have the bracelet brushed?
