Still getting over covid.
Rode my scoot down to the bike shop for yearly servicing thinking I was recovered enough to handle a 10 kilometre trip in heavy morning traffic.
Wrong.
Got home (My Darling picked me up in the car).
Promptly had a nana nap for an hour, felt like I'd ridden from Melbourne to Sydney.
Six hours later "your bike is ready!".
Rode the other bike down and collected the scoot.
Rode back in evening peak hour traffic, lane splitting without a care in the world (meds?).
Decided that the only cure was to sit down.
Opened a stubby of Coopers Extra Stout and contemplated dinner cooked by my Angel.

Bought a Waltham 23 Jewel Vanguard RR 6 position adj gold filled Pocket watch off of Face Book yesterday.
Today has been a continual loop of have I been scammed and lost my $600.
Other details for the day? f'd if I know, all those details have faded to mmmmm scam mmmmm scam.
Did pick up 2 watches from my watchmaker after repairs and service today in the haze, a nice mens 25 Jewel Revue and a 9CT gold women's Hafis watch.
Damn now I am thinking about that PW again.

Still up, bed soon though...

been researching different frags and just ordered five samples from three different houses, ate my evening salad and then, before burping properly, did 4k meters on the Concept 2 so now I feel like a bloated sack of non-burped indigestion.

Still hitting a hard wall on the 25th wedding celebration -- did order her new clogs for work but that ain't gonna win me points nor get me laid on 5/2. I need to buckle down hard and figure this gift shit out. Used to be easy when when we were scrapping by, and while not living in the land of large money - things are better even though occasionally titchy - but as money woes eased up a bit creative gift giving more or less evaporated along with it.
I did entertain two plane tickets and a hotel for three nights in San Francisco for the Windup Watch Fair weekend after next but nixed it as she would kill me.
Current Thinking: rent a limo and take her out dancing or just drive around sightseeing with a bottle of champagne and/or plop down for an upscale Airbnb for one night (she works a double shift on our anniversary but does have the day after off) and make her a fancy meal + dessert even though she's on a fairly strict diet to drop poundage.
Asked our daughter what her opinion was on the anniversary regarding gifts, "Dad, you married her not me -- dig down deep and dazzle. Me though, I'd want an absolutely silent house, no interruptions and 24 hours alone with World of Warcraft but I'm a nerd and mom hates PC gaming."
Worthless.

Running out of time.

Easy, its your silver wedding anniversary, get her something silver with Diamonds in it, and then cook a nice meal, with Champagne, and home bake a cake (we have an OF baking thread for inspiration) with candles. What's not for her to like, Silver, Diamonds, Champagne, and hubby sweating over a home baked cake with candles. (P.S Cake is more likely to get you laid than the other 3....), at least in my experience

Oh yeah, a gift card, gotta have a gift card

And I'm 27 years in this year so I must be doing something right😎

Typical Monday #2 with a metric crap ton of meetings, some of which were doubled up, so had to do the 'left ear, right ear' routine and exhibit master 'mute button' skills. The fun part came with a nice little visit for my yearly checkup at the Dermatologist (grow up in the South West as a kid with no concept of sunscreen and these visits become best practice), where he inevitably hacks off a couple chunks of flesh...today's most interesting being on the side of my nose...haven't had the experience of a numb eye socket before...that was fun.

He did comment on my Speedy...said 'that's a beautiful watch!' So I guess it wasn't all bad today!
Yep, I've got the divot on the left side of my nose too, many years in the tropics without sunscreen, sunscreen was for loosers in the late 80's🙄

I have 2 years to our 25th, but my wife is pretty easy, she loves jewelry. She has been bugging me to get her a new wedding ring (the one she has was her mothers) So I am thinking of getting us each a new rings.

Got up, opened OF like the addict I am, coffee, shower, dress, strapped on the Tudor GMT today and off to Marketing Communications gig I landed after 10 months of looking for someone willing to hire a 60 year old with shit tons of experience. Great post-secondary school but quite disfunctional which I feel undermines their mandate. Also planning for my 5pm phone interview with the company I left 16 months ago due to stress and too many whiny kids with little professional maturity (sez the old guy!!). So why consider going back? The company has a new CEO (a neighbour of mine and a cool lad); it's a dream opportunity with a different team who I miss as they were total pros; travel to US/Europe; and, yes, a little more $. More stress, too, I'm sure but I can work from home, hit the gym when I want and hang out with kitty. From a desert of opportunity to having choices. It's a nice change, actually.

Everything is pretty good, I learned this morning that the health troubles I've been having for seven months are not due to either liver cancer neither pancreatic cancer so, I guess I've got that going on for me today!!! 👍👍👍

Day started with trying to find which route to take to the metro. I live on the track route for the Baku F1 race which will happen next week. The route is gradually caged in the run upto the race week.My apartment is about 300 meters from the start line. Most of my day was spent marking papers and making materials.
I am currently following a half marathon training program but today is a non running day so I have been resting my legs in front of the TV. Tomorrow is a speed workout which are brutal, especially when you are a soon to be 50 year old fat bloke. But that's tomorrow, will worry about that then.

Four thousand ,now you know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert hall . I know this little known fact because back in the 60s four lads from Liverpool read about it in a newspaper & took the four thousand holes from Blackburn Lancashire to the Albert hall to prove it , And they counted them all even though some were rather small.

Baking off two pounds of sweet potatoes for snacks for our mini-doxie, about to start making pasta, shoulder is screaming like a howler monkey on meth -- and still need to row out some meters and go for a bike ride but the wind is screaming here at 32mph gusts so the ride is happening after dark.

Standard day except the fυcked off shoulder part.

Baku is on my list of places to visit for many reasons, including watching an F1 race. Maybe one day.

Believe me, if I'd have that kind of money, a LOT of people would benefit. 😉::psy::

I don't know you but I'll put you on the list 😁😁

Well, if you do ever make it to Baku, you are more than welcome to watch it from my balcony. I will even supply the beer
