    Good afternoon to all OF :)

    This time I got a white shadow that seem to be in very good shape, unfortunately I can’t share pics of the caliber and hope no surprises.
    I believe it’s all original , hope I don’t loose the deal . Tomorrow I’ll know for sure.
    Any one has same watch to know more about it?
    Thanks 40C7BFDE-4641-4757-8DC8-93704B43EFB9.png 65F3939D-CC1E-4C13-9F89-CD85309808E7.jpeg 234CEDB6-972F-448E-8066-8EB85CD5E449.jpeg 04A4B2AA-1F23-4982-BD81-8FA5E780C94F.jpeg 3E3F74B2-AAAE-4F59-BF7B-168E15359B4D.jpeg

    Ref started with 8 = SS, ref second and third digit 66 = cal. 66

    Shadow line:
    White shadow - SS;
    Gilt shadow - plated;
    Golden shadow - gold

    White shadows get a bit less interest at the moment so not a lot of information out there. Give it time and someone will start looking into them or Hodinkee will write an article on it and boom everyone will want one.

    They are quite common, pop up quite a bit on eBay and not very expensive. The cal. 66 is one (perhaps) the thinnest UG microtor iteration. I think @Carlton-Browne has one or two.

    true, hope soon Hodinkee talks more about them so boom :O)
    I'm very much into UG and is hard to understand why the Chronographs are very expensive and time only not, all of them have in house movements and are very well made, in my opinion very undervalued right now. thanks for the comments

    Agreed with @Jonatan , White Shadow is still the UG's line that is not hot right now, a lot of models in the line has the same design with Patek Philippe, quality wise, I'm not sure. The cal. 66 is a really good caliber, thin yet strong. I personally love the blue and black dial "White Shadow", though the name is quite misleading.

    I have three White Shadow Quartz which all have the in-house cal. 74* and just one Golden Shadow with a cal. 66. The Golden Shadows aren't popular these days as they represent an age when the prize was for making the smallest, thinnest mechanical watch rather than the opposite - I have no idea if that will come back into fashion but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I quite like collecting things that aren't hyped; not least because I can afford to buy more of them and I don't have to look around for special insurance every time I want to post them off to a watchmaker.

    *These are routinely my most accurate watches but don't tell anybody.

    true, they are very accurate, specially the time only ones.... as they don't have second hands and I can't control their accuracy lol .....
    I'm a control freak with my old watches so in this case I can't see the seconds
