·I picked this up quite awhile ago because I fell hard for the patina, but I just don't wear it.
CASE: the beefy lug 34mm case is in good, unpolished condition, with its facets still obvious. There are scuffs from wear, as you'd expect of anything going on 70 years old. The crystal is original, with the omega logo, but it is scuffed. The clover-leaf crown is, I assume, original as well; regardless, it's certainly correct for the reference. The big hippocampus caseback is in excellent shape.
DIAL+HANDS: This one's very love-it-or-hate-it. Regardless: all original everything, clearly the dial has developed quite a bit of patina. The lume has aged really nicely on the H/M hands, and the plots on the dial and the hands all flouresce under UV but don't hold any charge otherwise. The seconds hand is pretty oxidized, but otherwise seems fine.
MOVEMENT: The Cal 501 is currently running, and keeps time. I've worn it for days, and each morning it's still running, so there's okay power reserve. However, I don't know the watch's service history. Worth also noting: there's a missing case clamp and screw (you can see it in the picture), and the rotor rubs occasionally. Both of these issues should be simple to solve with a service.
This is my first listing here on OF; I sell quite a bit on ebay (wlcutter2) and over IG (Wescutter). I'm happy to provide references and answer any questions. The price is $800. On to the pictures.
