·Well, this is one I never thought I’d be listing!
Bought this beautiful Omega Seamaster, ref 2848, or what I have lovingly referred to as patina perfection, about four years ago from a member here. It has been a personal favorite and probably gets the most compliments of any watch I have, this dial is eye catching!
But with too many incomings, you know how the story goes…
DIAL: The star of the show, this thing is CRAZY. Tried to capture it in different light and different angles because it really changes from a medium burnt orange to dark copper to a bright gold, just incredible. Hard to do it justice in pictures. I don’t know if it lived with a lifelong smoker, or in a tropical environment, but I thank whoever put it through its paces to get it here. It’s a one off piece of wrist art!
CASE: The classic 34mm case (though wears larger with the 1950s fat lugs) has honest wear through, including marks most noticeable on the bottom left lug and case back, but it looks beautiful and the facets are all present.
CROWN: Correct Omega cloverleaf crown.
CRYSTAL: Unsigned high dome crystal in great shape.
MOVEMENT: I had the Omega cal 491 automatic movement fully serviced by my watchmaker when I purchased the watch here four years ago. It’s been running like a dream ever since, keeping time within about 10 seconds in a day in my experience.
BUCKLE: I searched for a while to find the large Omega symbol correct buckle, also from a member here. These are pricey, but I think really completes the look and will be included.
STRAP: Right now I have it on this dark brown synthetic leather strap from a company I like in Italy.
PRICE: $975 which will include fully insured shipping anywhere in the US. International, hit me up and let’s discuss.
