How’d I do?

I recently purchased my first vintage Omega watch on eBay, a 2505-13. I’m cautiously optimistic and like the watch so I’m okay living with the result whatever it may be.

Any feedback would be appreciated and if I got took I guess I need to know and learn from it. I had looked a quite a bit of info and examples and the seller from Buenos Aires had a large number of positive reviews which made me more comfortable.

The first six are from the seller, last two are mine. Don’t know how to get this damn SnapBack off without messing it up, but the external pictures all match what the watch actually looks like so hopeful the inside does too.

let me have it fellas.

If you don’t know how to do it, “Kid, don’t try this at home”.

Actually, there’s two things. First, watch a YouTube video (I’m sure there’ll be one) and second, make sure you have the right tool(s). Don’t use a butter knife!

But remember, you will probably find it harder to snap it back on 😉

I think it looks good. If that is a crack in the crystal between 12 and 1 (seen in the wrist shot), have it replaced to avoid any moisture intrusion.

Oh, I did not notice that. There is a crack running the circumference from about 10-1.

is that something that is able to be fixed by a local shop? Or any guidance on where to get something like that replaced?

I have a very similar example, but with lume. Your sub-seconds hand is original IMO.

Pretty bummed. The DHL package had repack tape. I know it wasn’t cracked when the seller mailed it so I’m guessing DHL did it. What can I expect to pay to have a crystal replaced?

You need to find a watchmaker with an Omega parts account to quote you a price and install it. You can try searching the forums for recommendations or let us know where you are located and we can make a suggestion.
