How to set seconds on a vintage Omega?

Ironically, I got into vintage watches because I got tired of pulling my phone out. I dug through my stuff and found my old grad watch and when it didn't work I started searching for another. The rest is history. 80+ watches later and I can't stop.

Deafboy,

I ran across this while looking for something else:

Very nice article indeed! So seconds precision was not required for day-to-day work by conductors or engineers. Since there was a tolerance of +/- 30 seconds on the accuracy of watches, my guess is that that railroad events (e.g. switching a track) could be scheduled to within a few minutes while assuring safety.

I also use the slight backward pressure to set the seconds on non-hacking movements while in the time set mode and it works great.
