How to modify PO GMT rubber strap?

·I’ve punched holes in leather, NATO, cloth and rubber straps many times to make them fit - dozens of them - without a single issue. I have an old leather punch from Tandy (remember that place?) that does the trick perfectly. Looks like a pair of pliers with a rotary piece for the punch. You can find something similar on Amazon.
I’d practice on a cheap strap first if you’ve never done it before.

·I used a drill, but a leather punch should also do the trick. Easy and quick!
