I have this Cal 286 movement which I'd like to find the correct case for.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    It's a Cal 286

I don’t wanna mess with your intentions, but are you sure you want to complete that watch?

The dial looks very tired and possibly redialed. Also, do you know if the movement is in working condition? Spare parts, service = cost.

It is not easy to find matching case with crystal, stem and correct crown.

All I’m saying just think about it one more time. It might cost time and money and in the end you might be disappointed with the result..

    Cheers, Kapka

Dial has been poorly refinished at some point, spending any additional funds to make this a complete watch would be a complete waste of time and money.

    Noob tax paid, move on.

It's the classic money pit, and at the end the watch will not look great if you look at the dial.

I don't even think that the leaf hands go with that dial and movement. They belong with a 30T2, in my opinion.

Yes, I believe you are right. I have already ordered the correct hands.

"Would you like an honest answer, or would you prefer an easy one?"

"I'll take the easy one, please."

I believe the OP asked for cases that a cal 286 fits in. I don't think the OP asked for opinions on the dial or if his plan is a good idea.

I think people are just taking this particular prompt quite seriously...

    Might have sentimental value.
But other than that it’s a money pit.

If you bought a donor case the dial would probably be original and a better choice.

Tell us a bit more about the watch and why you want to bring it back to life. Softens the crowd up a bit, if we know the story.

And you provided him with a link. He was then given some free and useful advice, to which "tough crowd" was not the most gracious response.

Thank you. I see now the error of my ways. Silly noob.
All advice pointing to a suitable case will be gratefully received.
