....................to even imagine that doing this would improve my watchmaking skills.

But if it was good enough for him :whistling:.

Yes, it does. But more explanation on origins?

It's not the watch. Refocus young Jedi, what else do you see.

But the base is broken off, so I wouldn't be able to put it dow................

    Ah yes............I get it now.

    :D

It's not a question about the watch.
What else do you see not usually found on an ordinary hobby watchmakers bench, but has been seen on.........

Well, maybe the Rodico which is verboten in some of the watch brand shops?

    No, not that.

But on the use of Rodico. I find it great for cleaning screwdriver blades, tweezer tips, gunk on the bench etc. I also use it for cleaning around casebacks before opening. I use clean Rodico balls to hold little parts when needed too, but every watch part touched by Rodico is cleaned before assembly.

Keep the flow of thought going.

The clue is right before your eyes.

    Second clue is "The Watchmaker!"

    Very interesting

I’ve been stopping at 3:30 for the last few weeks also, maybe it’s time I had a service

Footless wine glass? Such things exist. Fashionable, centuries ago. Look up “wobble snifter”. A brandy snifter that can’t be put down. In the era of Covid 19, what a concept!

I have had a couple that ended up that way- if I had only known that I could sell them to the watch community rather than throw them in the trash!
