Thanks for the advice ,I’ll defo be keep it It need s a new strap as the one on is not original and it’s black would it have had a brown strap. When it was new ?

There’s no paperwork in the box is there ? Sometimes people store it under the padding (if it easily lifts up).

I have one of the front loading pre-Deville Seamaster’s as well, think they were only ‘61-62 before they got Deville on the dial. There was a bracelet available in the ‘62 catalog before the BOR was shown on the later models, it’s this one.

Since yours is gold, I would just get it serviced (it’s not that much money in relation to the quality of the watch), and get a nice crocodile strap for it, either black or brown or even burgundy. They looks sharp on croc straps
