I'm having trouble dating this piece, all other examples are gold capped online that I see. I'm thinking this will be 1959 due to case back but I want to ask to experts

I’m having a little trouble reading the 8 digit serial number on the movement but, if it’s 16****** to 18******, it’s likely to be 1958-1961.
The 501 movement appears to have been in production between 1955-1960.

I think the serial number starts with 19 so I would say 1962. But that would be too late.

Thoughts on why this would be too late?

I’m having trouble reading the serial number as well, but the first two digits look like 18 to me, which would be a manufacture year of 1961, give or take.

Might be 18m so circa 1960-1. What is the case number? Is it a 2846 or a 5 digit case number model?

Would you think the case back is original to the case, Im thinking yes because they started stamping the seahorse in 1959 if I'm correct

We’re trying to help but you really need to post sharper photos with readable numbers and letters or, in the alternative, actually state the numbers and letters we’re speculating on.
