How often do you wind your watch?

If you wear your watch everyday, with it not being used every night when you go to bed, do you think you need to wind it in the morning?

Or do you think only if you rotate it with another watch only and not wear it for 24 hours you should wind it?

I've only wound my SMP 300m once... when I got it.

It's worn daily but taken off at night for approx 8 hours. With a 55 hour power reserve I'm not expecting it to require winding any time soon.

I've only had it a week and so far is keeping perfect time but eventually it will need adjusting. When it does I'll breath some new life into it!

For automatics you don't need to wind it after the first wind, if you wear it daily.

Clearly for manual, they need 15-20 turns each morning.

Most watches need 40 from stopped.

I only wind my automatics to get them started. Once I have worn them a while, they should have enough power reserve to not need to wind them after a 24 hour sit. Since it's automatic, you shouldn't have to wind it at all, unless it stops.

I barely wind an auto, a few crown spins and a gentile swing and it on.

I only wind my automatics if:

1. They have been off my wrist long enough to stop.
2. I’m doing something else that has required unscrewing the crown, such as changing the date or setting the time to a new timezone when traveling. In that case, I’ll give it a few winds just because it’s convenient.

Otherwise, the crown is screwed in to ensure the highest water resistance.

I'm with Don... I tend to wind when I'm doing something that requires a crown unscrew.
