Nice. Any vintage Railmasters? Just curious.

Among the railroad approved wrist watches, we’re showing half a dozen each Bulova 214 and 218 railroad wrist watches. One Bulova quartz day-date, two Rodania quartz railroad wrist watches, one Hamilton Electric model 505 railroad wristwatch, one Seiko, one Elgin manual wind railroad wrist watch, and two ‘60s vintage Ball Trainmasters (automatic winders). But no Omega Railmasters. Sorry!

Just finished a robotic surgery workshop. One of the instructors had this on his wrist and it's thicc!

The Tudors are very slab sided to the extent that they look very short lug to lug as if someone put them in a vice and squashed it tight.

And yet they're so satisfying to wear. I even have a particular dislike of screw-down chrono pushers personally, and I took one of these in on trade intending to sell it fairly quickly. Instead, it seems it'll be in the collection for quite a while 😵‍💫

What are your feelings with regard to the 45 minute sub dial compared to 30 or 60 minute? Thanks.

have fun

30 or 45 minutes, doesn't really matter to me - although I will say it can be hard to read since the markings are so fine, so perhaps going with 30min would have been a better choice. In any case, the way that the hands often block the subdial from view is definitely a design issue. I also think it should have had a rotating dive bezel as the Black Bay line are dive watches.

But it's just so much fun to wear on a NATO strap, none of this really bothers me. It has that hallmark Black Bay indestructible feeling and I can't help but like it

Just met a guy in the airport wearing a black dialed Tag Chrono with an orange bezel. I thought it was a Planet Ocean from a distance and asked him (we are at the same gate.)

Turned out it's his first watch and someone at the golf club he manages gave it to him. He's on his way to Atlanta to start a new job with Coca-Cola. Great guy, a little apprehensive but also excited to start a new career. Of course the joke was to ask them when he going to get a company Coke Rolex.

Still don't see many but it usually ends up with a good conversation. Kind of like with you all. 😀

Met a gentleman working in Dillards wearing a 50’s or 60’s Rolex while buying a suit a few days ago. Needless to say he was wearing all the high end options available for sale and managed to politely hustle me into a nicer belt and shoes 😁

Went to dinner with my wife on Saturday at a nice French restaurant here in St. Pete. The manager taking our drink order wore a Submariner, and I saw three other subs and an older Datejust on patrons.

I was wearing my Seamaster 300 and wished I’d worn my Speedmaster because of the large number of divers present!

I've honestly never recalled meeting an actual "watch person" in the wild. I have definitely seen Rolex aplenty, commented on it (if appropriate), and came to realize the owner wasn't a watch enthusiast but rather someone who wanted a Rolex. Maybe one day. It would definitely be nice to spark a random conversation with a fellow watch enthusiast in the wild.

I agree that it's nice to find a fellow enthusiast and it does happen from time to time. In my current job I've had clients compliment me on my Speedmaster FOIS twice and that started a conversation about watches.

In NYC; from all my years; I spotted too many Submariners (Hence why I don't own one), a few 26mm-36mm DateJust (mostly on the wrist of women in their 60-70s; I did spot a few on teenagers (which I assume belongs to their parents), spotted a few Daytona (modern ceramic 6 digit ref. and all on 25-30 YOs), a couple Omega Speedys/seamaster and Tudors but one that really embedded a memory to me was this old man (pretty sure he's retired and lived a good life) whom praised the Takara Kronoform that I was wearing and to my surprised he was wearing a 6239..

Congratz to British zoologist/biologist Sir David Attenborough on his 97th birthday.
Last year he was so kind autographing a few 1962 photographs showing him wearing his Rolex Explorer 1016 wrist watch.

Spotted a rather rich dude in business class on my plane to Japan with a Tiffany PP Nautilus 😗

You know they are rich when the greeter is on the aerobridge as soon as you get off the plane…… I had to settle for a driver with a name card once I cleared customs…..😁😁

I have seen at least 8 'Patek Nautilus Tiffany' dialed watches, one of my students has one. Lost count of how many 'Royal Oaks' and 'gold' Hublots. All fake.

My colleague showed me his fake Tissot watch, so happy was he, that he ordered another watch, which was being delivered to him that day, and asked if I was interested in getting one😲 No thanks.

There are a lot of oil workers here, a lot of them wear Subs, but I have never bothered talking to them about watches as past interactions have shown that they are not really interested in watches, they mainly bought them because everyone else had them.
