Way too much. Although I stopped a year ago.

I´m now focused on enjoying what I have and I have no buying future plans at all.

Why does the OP want to know? Sorry and no offense meant, but why the need to benchmark how much you spend on luxury goods on a public forum? Who cares? How much emotional value does a given watch have? How do you measure ROI for a luxury watch versus other "experiences"? Owning, wearing a luxury watch is an emotional experience...we all have limited time within this material life, so what experiences you choose as part of your journey are personal and only you know the true value of each experience.

I have very clear investment priorities.

The wife said the bathrooms needed updating. I said I needed a Rolex 1675 pcg.

So I met her in the middle.

If I did that I would meet mine in the middle , the middle of the landing that is .As we would be in separate bedrooms ... now come to think of it ,that's more room for my collection as she says its my only true love anyway. She knows me so well , only joking my lovely ( just added this in case she ever reads this thread 😗 )

I have decent control over many things in my life, but women and watches are like crack. Since I am married, and can't pursue the former, I figure the money I save not getting divorced rationalizes almost any watch purchase.

I was just wandering how much money do you spend on watches?

I am done purchasing watches. My next (and last) purchase is going to be a gold bracelet for my speedy, so technically not a watch, but none the less I am like 99.9% sure this will be my last watch related purchase.

How big are collections of member from this forum? I am sure that are some impressive collection out there..can we see some pictures?

I recently bought a watch case that can hold 10 watches, so I am going to limit myself to 11 watches (10 in case, and 1 on wrist). So I will be selling a few watches in the very near future.

By far my favorite watch.

This year I have spent more on travel than watches and next year my wife wants an apartment so not so much on watches then either.
The past few years I have spent more on watches. It's swings and roundabouts. As long as the bills get paid and the wife gets what she wants then I don t give much thought to how much I have spent; more important is the pleasure I get from wearing them.

I invest absolutely nothing in watches. However I spend the vast majority of my discretionary income buying them

Did the Datejust with the pink floral dial really come from the factory looking like that?

I have spent a lot on watches. I have not invested anything in watches...I buy what I like and not for investment purposes.

Better off if you don't consider it an investment. If it goes up, great, if it doesn't, you (I hope) enjoyed it. If you really treat it as an investment, you'd have to think about what you spent on shipping, wiring and paypal charges, servicing, straps, replacing parts with period correct, and it wouldn't look that good as an investment.

I challenge anyone who says that they don't invest in watches when purchasing. At some point you are going to be interested in how much your purchase is worth weather it's an hour or 10 yrs later. Nobody enjoys losing money as far as I'm aware ( unless for tax reasons ) and it may sound very chiverous to advertise that we purchase for love and enjoyment but, at some point you will check how much it's worth which instantly makes it an investment

Agree with you , a collector collect watches that they try to buy at a fair price , the goal is to keep it , now there is another type of guy called the speculators that at the end don’t care about watches the only thing is how much money I can do not the same birds.

When I use the term 'invest' I had in mind that when I buy a watch I tell my wife that it's not for my pleasure...it's an good investment.😀

I hereby revise my previous post:

Invested wisely: $0

Invested questionably: 😟😗

Being interested in it's worth does not make it "instantly" an investment - sorry but that is complete nonsense. The only reason I'm interested in what the watches I own are currently worth is for insurance purposes.

An investment is something you buy specifically because you are expecting it to gain in value when it is sold at a later time.
