Never really understood why some people started questioning it tbh

But aside from the guy Buzz punched (nice work too btw) there was that other guy that said Ed White, Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee were executed by the CIA for threatening to expose the Apollo program as a hoax... Clearly there are some people with too much time on their hands.

In the immortal words of Apollo 16 astronaut Charlie Duke...."We went to the moon nine times, why would we fake it nine times?"

For a more humorous take on this issue, dig up the Ali G show interview with Buzz on youtube or elsewhere. Always cracks me up when I watch it.

There are chemically imbalanced conspiracy nuts EVERYWHERE. You know what they say about being paranoid and believing in conspiracies: YOU ONLY HAVE TO BE RIGHT ONCE!!!! :p

I never understand why people question this. If their lives are so limited by their lack of imagination, drive and ability then they must be terrible to live with.

From an Engineering standpoint, there is nothing insurmountable in designing a craft to send a man to the moon. I'm not saying it was easy and they did a terrific job but Engineering is not that much more advanced today and I suppose everyone believes we could do it now. Concorde, the supersonic airliner, flew in the same year and I assume everyone accepts it really did fly? Today, it would be easier to design the ship with the latest computer power. Still a major challenge but with enough money.... (cv available if anyone is thinking of doing it;))

The navigation aspect was outstanding with the computing power they had.

You need some very brave men though, and they found them. Like this Guy on the back of a Thunderbird, forty years afterwards.

If some people have never actually accomplished anything in their lives, it's easy for them to assume no one else has either - that's my theory.

Yes, having witnessed several Apollo mission Saturn V rocket launches from close up, it is one of the most awesome sights I have ever seen. The power is just unimaginable and can not be duplicated on video.

Oh damn, I guess this makes me one of the conspirators. ;)

I always think of the rivalry between the US and the USSR embodied within the Space Race. It was really such a big thing to be first at that time. If it was faked I reckon no matter what, the Soviets would have been aware of it and climbed all over it as a propaganda coup.
