Another lady collector here! Mostly vintage watches.

I hid for a while, I admit. Maybe I was a bit afraid of making a fool of myself asking questions. But alas, nobody is omniscient. So here I am. I posted in the ‚new member‘ area of open discussions, for those who might be interested.

Welcome @Applepie, so glad to see you break your cover 👍
And you posted some nice watches, you seem to have a thing for vintage Omegas from the 40s and 50s— any other brands and time periods? Any other types of watchea, tool watches? (Maybe I should not encourage you on any of these oh so slippery slopes 😜)

Thank you Syrte, as you mentioned, I have a soft spot for Omegas fron the 40/50ies. But not only…
I have a liking for several brands and types. I am a bit ‚allover the place‘, so it makes it difficult to summarize my preferences in watches.😟

I have thing with old military watches, also chronographs and divers. I have passed a few on, since they were too large for me. But somehow they get replaced fast. 😗

Just here to say it goes both ways in terms of feeling comfortable. I'm a member of a FB group that is easily 90+% women, and I absolutely have to watch myself in tone and language. Plus, a sizeable number of comments from that group make me uncomfortable. I don't believe its a sexist thing at all, just different style of communication. The group is very 'feely' vs the bluntness men are typically known for. So i just act like I'm talking to my wife, and then take out the trash and clean up the crumbs off the couch. 😗

I find it strange, that women and men should comunicate in different areas of a forum. Especially if we share the same interest. We can learn alot from eachother. After all, women want to be seen as equals and not be ‚banned’ to a seperate ‚corner‘. We don‘t want to be catapulted back in time to when different genders weren‘t supposed to interact at all…!! 😕
