Relatively easy to find a deluxe connie but harder to find an all original example in nice condition. Well worth it though.

The date at 6 with that dial style - scalloped edges - is rare. What Ashley has is the only one for sale that I've seen in a few years. The seamaster version is rarer than the equivalent connies. Price for that one is in the neighborhood of 5,000 USD.

The Constellation Deluxe makes a much more daily wearable piece, the downside to the Seamaster Piepan date at six models is there's no way to quickset them, and they're bumper automatics. This means every time you wear it, you have to manually set the date by winding the time forward (sometimes 30 whole revolutions).

You also can't keep it on a winder since bumpers don't wind on them, which means the only alternative to setting it manually is wearing it or winding it daily.

The Constellation on the other hand with no date means you never have to worry about setting the date, just wind it up, set the time and you're away.

Point taken 👍 more than the date@6 the scalloped edges make a lot of difference.

is The Constellation Deluxe available in scalloped edges?
