    Hi all,

I tried searching this, but couldn't find anything. I am looking for advice on how to best clean up a second hand bracelet. I just bought to 1171 off eBay. I expect it to arrive in a couple of days. $_12.jpeg

If you happen to have a cappuccino machine, you can also use the steam wand to clean jewelry, including a watch bracelet with moist steam.

You can take it to a watchmaker and have him run it through a ultrasonic cleaner if it is really dirty.

Put the bracelet in a pot with water and soap. Let the water boil and move the bracelet with a wood spoon under the boiling water. You'll see a lot of cheese and dirt come out of the bracelet.

Another good way is to fit the bracelet to a watch, then buy yourself a nice new white shirt with French cuffs. Wear the watch with the new shirt and the result is, the dirt will vanish from the bracelet onto the shirt cuff. Wash the shirt with each wearing. Repeat until the cuff no longer shows dirt. :D

Just soak it for a few hours in a solution of water and baking soda. It will come out sparkling with every bit of gunk removed.

Warm water and soap in a glass. Let it stand for an hour, swirl it around and repeat if necessary.

This stuff works really good. Pour some in a baggy with your bracelet and work it around. Amazing how much crud it gets out. Afterward, any rattles the bracelet had will be gone. Bracelet_lube_zps0b3150f0.jpg

As it happens, I DO! It has a 17” neck, 36” sleeves, and it is a TALL model. What’s the chances it’ll fit you.

Definitely go the sonic cleaner route if you have access to one. I happen to own one for other hobbies and I just cleaned a bracelet on monday. The results are crazy. I love watching the dirty clouds seep out from the nooks, its therapeutic haha.

Before I had my ultrasonic cleaner I used the dishwasher. To be on the safe side I used it when my wife was away:D

Warm water, ultra clean Colgate toothpaste & soft toothbrush.
Soak overnight in a bowl& rinse-brush with soft toothbrush.
You'll be surprise on the result!
