Hour hand slightly ahead, within spec?

I have had my new to me Speedmaster coaxial chronograph for about two months now, and recently noticed that the hour hand appears to be slightly ahead. There is some play when you use the jumping hour function so I tried it a couple of times, but this is the best I could get it to line up. This is a quick picture I took with my iPhone. I can take a better picture with a real camera if necessary.

I did some research and it seems like this issue is often covered under warranty, but not always as sometimes it still considered “in spec” even if it isn't perfectly aligned. Would you all consider this to be in spec or should I pursue a service under warranty?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Back up the minute hand until the hour is exactly at 12 and post a pic

As noted above, the spec is determined by the minute hand position when the hour hand is aligned.

if you search you will find some other threads on exactly this topic which may answer your questions

This sort of stuff really bothered in. I’ve now come to accept it. I had more issues from watchmakers opening up an otherwise perfect watch. The thing with hand alignment is it’s not a defect like a scratched or chipped dial etc. simply a human setting it slightly off and there is backlash in the gear train as well you can’t completely eliminate. When you get the watch service it will go through this lottery again.

Yep hand misalignment or several months without your watch and possibly some added dust on the dial. :whistling:
