He'd much rather drink from the pool than his bowl in the house.

Negative! Quite the odd mix of 50% Siberian Husky, 25% chihuahua, 25% mystery!
I was gonna toss some Shiba in there too. Would be interesting to get a saliva genealogy done. Good looking fella.

How do you get an older female dog who's a bit of a fussy eater to eat her heartworm pill? You chop it up into 4 pieces, hide it under some kibble, and sprinkle some grated cheese on top...

Even then she was able to sniff out two pieces and left them behind. I wrapped those two last pieces in some Brie, but she managed to spit one of those out, while not noticing the other. Finally resorted to stuffing the last piece down her throat...I'll spare you the photos it was messy!

The young boy on the other hand will snarf down pretty much anything so fast he doesn't have time to taste it. Just put his pill in the with kibble and it was gone in a flash.

Every day is an adventure...

Our dog was just as fussy and would only take his pills when carefully wrapped in ham. Didn't take long for "dog ham" to become a fixture on the shopping list - what must the other shoppers have thought when we'd ask each other "have you got the dog's ham"?

We used to cook them veggies (potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, peas) and also cooked them chicken for a while - all this added to the kibble for 2 meals a day each. We then realized that the stench of the farts (by the dogs, just to be clear) was directly proportional to how much of these extra things we gave them. Also the vet said the food we are giving them is very complete and high in protein, so we don't cook them things specifically anymore, but they do share in leftovers!

But for a while it was about getting the dog veggies and dog chicken, so I can relate.

I tried most of the above. Then noticed we'd bought a super fine grater for some complicated cooking instructions type dinner and hey presto... super find grated meds in the dindins.::stirthepot::

The joys of having a Labrador. We put Prim鈥檚 in a little meatball of food and she wolfs it down like she鈥檚 inhaling it.

I do that twice a day with heart pills for her, but it won't work with this pill...
