Hard to imagine him covered in mud but I bet he will be at some stage 😀

Caught him rolling about in one of my flower beds a couple of days ago, he took some cleaning 🤦

Well, back to the origins of this thread in away, Remi is celebrating his 11th birthday today...

Well, he's celebrating after we took the hat off anyways - he was not a fan...😀

Why am I putting up a picture of a ladder? I am at the point where I am spending 1,000 usd a week on hairy. This will be the third week. I have no clue how she decompensated so quickly besides the seizures something else popped up. I have an appt at a place that just specializes in cats Monday but I may need to go back to the ER tonight as her breathing is impaired. This is my favorite ladder but I have others I can use so I’m selling off extra tools etc to cover some of these treatments. For her sake I will only keep it going so long but I can’t get a damn diagnosis. I am not being cruel here extending her suffering (I keep asking the vet) damn I could never be a doctor because animal suffering drives me insane. But hairy is my mothers cat (was) and I feel compelled to save her if I can. So today we selling this ladder and a shop vac for the hairy fund. Luckily I can do this but tbh when you talk to your wife about budgeting rarely do you say “well honey, let’s spend an extra grand a week on the cat for a while.” I guess I got spoiled with sooper dooper not getting sick for 17 years I honestly lost touch with how expensive some of these treatments could be.

Sorry to read that @Walrus Hopefully they can narrow a treatment down without endless diagnostics. Don’t forget you need to look after yourself and Mrs Walrus too. Keeping fingers and paws crossed for Hairy.

Actually ofm, she seemed happy after my tool sale I just handed her the money told her use it for the vet bill but since I need to keep a close eye on hairy could you fly over here and watch Mrs Walrus until I resolve this? I hope to have an answer one way or another this week. Thanks you are a true friend, she’s a cheap date as well.

Something you can try at home is nebulizing and coupage. I may have spelled them both wrong but I’m in the bathroom with hairy got the room full of steam I give her a dose of an asthma type thing then there is a special way u gently “hit” their lungs with the hope that it will help them beak up the obstruction/infection tbh it feels 120 degrees in here but it seems to help

On our recent travels we met up with a fellow Beagle owner which in our experience is somewhat rare but for that owner to be someone we had met many years ago with her now dearly departed Beagle as we are with ours and here we have the next generation 🥰

So yesterday we drove to lovely Bobcaygeon, Ontario...had this playing in the car on the way into town, as it seemed appropriate:

We were there for a fundraising picnic for a Galgo Rescue group. Galgo's are Spanish Greyhounds, and are often not treated well (to put it mildly) once their working lives are up. I won't go into the horrific details of what some of these dogs go through, but if you want to find out more you can read here:

Tens Of Thousands Of Dogs Are Being Tortured For A Gruesome 'Tradition' - The Dodo

Since we are sighthound owners with our two Whippets, we have supported this cause for the last few years, and will most likely end up adopting one of these when one of out current family passes on. So we drove the 3.5 hours or so to have a few hours with some like minded individuals, and of course their dogs. It was hot, but we had some fun, and here is a group shot (note that lots of people had left before this, because of the heat):

Our dogs met fellow Whippets, Galgos, regular Greyhounds, Saluki's, and a few other assorted dogs. Along the way we found a larger male doppelganger for our female Whippet Maeve...this is Jethro on the left, and our tiny by comparison Maeve on the right:

She's looking at me here like she's hoping that we aren't trading her in for a larger model!

Long day of driving, but lots of fun, and for a great cause.

I have cats, dogs, and lizards. We had chickens, goats, and guinea hens but they do come and go. Here's a couple current pics I have on my phone.

Our 9yr old Maine coon rescue, currently the most expensive animal by vet bills.

Our 1 year old "lab/terrier mix" which is apparently Staffordshire terrier and maybe some great Dane too.

Me and our Monkey Dog. Think Chihuahua mixed with Italian Greyhound

A white "fuzzy brother" named Moe. (my son's name is Jack, can you guess the name of the other fuzzy brother?.) And a departed Arabella grey tux.

Then my mom's deaf cat we inherited for 6 months after my mom passed away March 2021. Then she passed. She was just here.for my mom. Sorry, still tough, and now I can't see my phone screen through the tears.

I've always wanted goats.
