Interesting. I wonder why the 2915 only achieved a modest price?

Isn´t this enough for a -2 ? This is not "peanuts" ...

I can look this up, but I'm going to choose to be lazy...was that all before premium? Has to be.

Well, worse examples have sold for more. From a very quick look it looks quite a nice example.

There is no doubt that both the 2915 and to a lesser extent the 2998 sold under what I was expecting.

I wasn't prepared to buy the 2998 at that level, but I was the underbidder on the 2915....I felt there was little competition for it. Perhaps people who saw it, saw something they did not like.

I had not held it, so I did not want to go further, but I have a suspicion that it may turn out to be the bargain of the year.

That said it could easily be a Seamaster movement with a German bezel
Too many queries that without seeing it I was not ready to risk.

Christie's have for better prices because they show these kinds of watches all over the world, getting the piece under the nose of the buyers. and for all I say about Christies, they are trying to become more knowledgable everyday, they have built up a good rapport with the museum so they get extracts on all their watches, and I get the feeling that they are trying, with speedmasters at least, to be transparent and find honest watches.

2915 went under guideline price but still out of most peoples reach.

Given recent results, I'm surprised at the prices for the 2915 and 2998. Especially since Philips seem to be establishing themselves as one of the premier auctioneers for vintage watches.

The serial number seems too low for a 2915-2 according to moonwatch only.
This could explain the "low" price.
Mine is 15.996.xxx.

That 2998 looks great. But it seems some trace of touch up on the hour sub dial at 6? Maybe seeing it in person is needed to determine that. Regardless it seems a good price.

I couldn't figure that out, presuming yes?
