Hodinkee or Camille Fournet watch strap

Unfortunately, my wife loves her JLC Reverso. I put a cheap $20 strap on it to give to her and she's ready for a nice strap. Narrowed it down to Hodinkee or Camille Fournet. Anyone have a recommendation? Both run about the same price (a lot).

    Thanks,

    Cornholio

The strap that originally came on my Jaeger-LeCoultre was Camille Fournet, and I believe most of their current models are spec'd on them, so there's that. I think you can have them custom-made as well, which I don't think Hodinkee does - though their original supplier will. Forget the bane at the moment though

She decided for me. She wanted the one from Paris. Life can be pretty simple sometimes.

    Perfect

Some excellent decision making there getting your wife into a JLC too, should keep you off the leash for a while to get what you like.

Just a note on HODINKEE straps. I have bought quite a few and have always been very happy with the quality.

Hodinkee and Bulang straps are made by JPM. Camille fournet, ABP, and Jean Rousseau are all a step above

To be fair JPM makes gorgeous straps, but the "step above" is more in terms of the style than the craftsmanship involved. CF, ABP and JR specializes in more intricate materials, stitching, padding, proportions, etc, while JPM is more simple and rustic. So it really depends on the style of strap you're looking for, then getting recos on which manufacturer to go with.
Congrats on the easy choice, post a pic when it finally comes in.

Those are the two I was going to recommend also:
1/ Jean Rouusseau is same type of maker but better value for money than Camille Fournet
2/ if you really want something special ABP Paris sells special order straps on its website, all sorts of hides and all sorts of colors. Basic order 160 euros.
Camille Fournet of course is JLC's supplier.
PS - edit/add: and they're ALL from Paris.

They are very different in style and purposes. JPM is a bit too hipster for me but I have a few straps from them. Most of my straps come from CF and the ready made ones are top quality. On custom made ones, it is hit and miss (I had one $200 ostrich with white glue traces at the places where the feather nodes are, and the response from CF was subpar).

Sorry to revive this, but do you remember which color you bought this exact strap in?
