It is in superb condition - Just look at those crown guards

Hands may have been repainted to match dial - Would be interested to know when the factory service took place ?

GMTs have been on a fast rise lately. Especially on prime examples/complete sets like the one Greekbum/Nick just put up. I think the value on divers like red subs and double red SeaDwellers have stagnated and people are looking toward another reference....Daytonas while hyped also haven't moved THAT much in relation to last year. One thing for sure, vintage Rolex isn't getting any cheaper anytime soon.

Question is, do you diggin' it more than the Silver Snoopy you're trying to resist??

Negative

To call it a high watermark it needs to have been sold at that price. He is asking that price but no one has bought as yet.
It's the old adage (asking price vs selling price)

To my knowledge...because I speak with him on and off and other guys in the same circle. It was sold in a day after being put on TRF.

This is interesting.

My 16750 blows most matte dial 1675s out of the water, IMO, when it comes to lume patina and case.

The question with the reference is how much value is placed, positive or negative, on the extra 1 digit.

There are a ton of $10k+ 1675s I would never consider trading for my 16750.

the watch sold yesterday. outside of Gilt GMTs & 6542s there is no reason matte 16750s shouldnt be ahead of all other GMTs in terms of price. The matte was only produced for a few years (and many many of those dials were replaced at service), it received an upgraded high beat movement and it has an acrylic crystal. I also love the shape of the coronet on these references. I would never sell mine. To be honest, no other vintage Rolex outside of a 6263 does it for me as much as the 16750.

As mentioned above, watch sold within a day, which makes me believe the seller got close to asking price.

I need to get a black bezel for mine. Ive sat on my ass for too long about it waiting for one that had faded such that it was almost blue. any idea what they are going for these days? great watch!!

but back to the op, these things are getting so expensive Im a bit hesitant to wear mine as a semi-daily wearer. need to add a 16710 before they are over $10k!

Black insert definitely makes the patina pop.

I have been looking for a gilt 1675 and IMO that piece was way underpriced. Bezel insert and bracelet were worth $5k so you are only left with 12k for the watch. Most decent gilt dials go for $20k and up and if you want one with a really good dial you can't touch them for less than $25k. Someone got a great deal.
