The logo on those large Gold-shiny chronographs we saw strapped over the Sokol space suits since Soyuz MS-21 in March 2022, worn by the ISS expedition 67 cosmonauts might be ENERGIA but it's now certain an ENERGIA logo wrist watch was worn on the spacewalks 445 and 447.
(Wikipedia EVA numbering: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_spacewalks_since_2015 )
This white dial with Russian State logo at 12 o'clock seems to be nicknamed the President's watch and has been used on EVAs (spacewalks)!

Always amazed by questions " Can I wear my Speedmaster " ... doing the lawn ? during snow removal ?
Can astronauts/cosmonauts wear the Omega Speedmaster in the cramped spaceflight capsules ?
Omega Speedmaster chronograph worn by Soyuz TM-27 cosmonaut Talgat Musabayev onboard the Mir space station (during LIVE Omega X-33 press TV broadcast) between January & August 1998 (207 days 12 hours in space).

And you probably never saw one again. As said in your other topic, they stopped soon after the war. Russians will unlikely take it back. Maybe NASA will, but very unlikely too. They don't use watches for years now 🙁

I knew it's an old photo but maybe my favorite one ever 😉

Interesting feedback via the SWFG - Space Watches Facebook Group:
The Omega Speedmaster X-33 worn by cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev during the August 17, 2022 spacewalk ( 4 hours 1 minutes ) survived the ordeal !

I do not use Facebook but it was still running and keeping time properly?

Im sure the case and crystal can survive but most batteries are not happy after four hours at… -60? Under the suit warm there is no question in my mind it would be fine.

That would be truly amazing if it was fully functional with time(s) timers and alarms all still doing their thing with no lost time or errors.

It's not really -60°C for hours. At that temperature, even a mechanical Speed wouldn't last.

There is no conduction in space. So it's freezing very slowly. If quartz watches were not used in EVA, it mostly because it didn't exists. Then USA dropped using a Speed or any watches at all.

There is no real reason why a quartz wouldn't last. A correct 2024 quartz has a way better build quality than a 60's Daytona or Longines. Roscomos used to keep the habit of mechanical watches as a security if everything on the suits shuts down for a reason.

They are using whatever they have now. Even 1st GEN X-33.

Thanks for the heads up... IMHO the Russian side of the Omega story has been neglected...
Although the (Soviet-) Russian cosmonauts have been using Omega chronographs since the 1970s...
December 1988 French cosmonaut Jean-Loup Chrétien juggled Speedmaster chronographs in micro-gravity aboard the Mir space station.
As this was Chrétien's second spaceflight, he had a special watch made for the CNES Aragatz mission: Yema Spationaute III
(visible at his right wrist)
.

That's a fantastic photo for a Speedmaster fan!

2024, March 29... ISS Expedition 70
ISS Exp 70 NASA astronaut Loral O'Hara wearing a Sokol space suit with the now well-spotted shiny large "Energia" logo chronograph over the left forearm near the white pressure control valve. These striking & large "Energia" logo dial chronographs were first spotted during the Soyuz MS-21 launch ceremony in March 2021.
The first idea to identify these tended to the "Strela" chronographs which have a similar lay-out but lack a full numerals dial.
These large "Energia" chronographs were also used during the August 17, 2022 spacewalk on the Orlan space suit of cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev.

I didn't knew the re-issue of Strela flew in Space. I have one of these and it is a super watch with the (already defunct) Poljot 3133 movement:

@sci
The Russians love their history, in 2016 we even saw this commemorative " Shturmanskie " (Navigator) version on the wrist of Sergeï Ryzhikov during Soyuz training for his ISS Expedition 49/50 mission.

Are those gold, or PVD TiN? The latter would make sense and actually something I was looking into- a PVD DLC (Diamond-like carbon) coating on D2 tool steel cases.
