Agree with all the above, price is too strong for condition and head only - especially if you like the 1479 bracelet that should come with it, as they'll set you back a bit to buy separately!

I'm not sure I'd agree Australian prices are out of whack for this model (although this example definitely is). I keep up with the Japan market and 3590.50s have surged in price over the last year or more. Similar to Australia, where you could get a good example for around 4k a year or so ago. Add in 10-15% import and the value proposition of many international markets really diminishes.

I think an issue is that in Australia the local supply seems to have dried up a bit lately, so there's not a lot of choice or local price anchors, and if one comes up a lot of current sellers are going for top dollar. Take your time and be prepared to spend a couple of months checking ebay and gumtree on a daily basis - I seem to recall a great 1992 example with bracelet etc sold for about 5k on gumtree a few weeks ago...

Much appreciated for the tips there 😀
With customs fees it ends up more like 15% into Australia. Under $1AUK often does not attract charges although customs changed the rules to include items under this a while back. Have not bought from elady but I have bought 3 watches off other traders in Japan. The Omega, a Zenith Rainbow Flyback and LE JDM Seiko. All excellent, sensibly priced and efficient transactions. One dealer did alter value without being asked, which was a pleasant surprise but best to factor in 15% on price and postage.
Cheers.

Thanks very much. Some great points. You’re right, I should probably slow it down and not FOMO right in. I’ll have a gander on Gumtree too! Gracias 😀

Hi guys. Just dropping in again! I’ve found one on Gumtree, that looks pretty good. The hands have been changed at the last service (but the originals come with it). Its a little over what I wanted to pay, but it’s a full set and seems pretty good. Asking price is AUD $6500. Would love to have your feedback 😀

For sale is this 1991 Omega Speedmaster 145.022 Professional Moonwatch.

Long 'S' and 'R' Dial

Rare bezel insert

30 years old this year! A true survivor!

Fully serviced by Omega. Two year warranty included.

The watch is a full set, with its original warranty card. Inner and outer box.

We are talking Australian $ here. the OP is in Australia. US $ 3500 is Australian $ 4800.

Hi there. I really appreciate you feedback on my first post. If you have a chance and could let me have your thoughts on the watch I posted on Friday, it’d be much appreciated! Kind regards

Looks OK. I'm not an expert in this area, but I'd want to confirm with the seller whether the tritium hands have been replaced with superluminova hands during service (this would be a deal breaker for me at that price). It looks like the watch may have also seen a polish during service, which isn't necessarily a bad thing although might affect desirability for some collectors.

The price is steep, but worth weighing up against the value of the full Omega service (AUD $1k+) and having the original box and papers.

Any luck with your search? I recently picked up a 3590.50 from a member of the forums. It is a great first Speedy. I looked at a lot before I finally pulled the trigger. I think if you're patient the right one will come along. Best of luck.

Looks good. Good price too for a full set although I personally have an aversion to boxes and the stuff you can't wear, takes up space. But I am old and short on space.
Would not worry too much if them service hands are Luminova, look ok and you have the originals.
Enjoy the watch,

Just found this thread - I purchased the watch in the original post. Dust cover was included, and is running ok for me at -7s so no service needed for a while. The photos in the listing were poor, it's much better in person - underside of the lug has some marks from strap changes, and the outside of the 11o'clock lug has a couple of small dings, but nothing serious - i'll post some better photos.

OP, congrats on your purchase. At 6k aud with bracelet, box and papers, it looks like a good deal in the current speedy market here in oz.
