Hi I got this watch from my father. Knowing my father I suspect it's not legit He has passed away now so it is important to me so want to get it fixed. So, I am trying to find out is whether it is real or not and where I could get it fixed/serviced? Cheers for any help anyone can give.
You're going to need better shots than that to get an answer. Try taking some in natural light (i.e. no phone/camera flash and closer up to both the dial/case back and also a side view of the crown. Have a look and see if there is an Omega logo on the buckle, if so shoot that too. The strap is a replacement so don't both including that. My initial thought is that it's a bit battered but might actually be kosher. Having the case opened will provide ultimate confirmation of its identity. Good luck.
Hello, If you take it to a watch maker they can take the back off. The inside of the case should be a number and you can Google that. Note down the movement number on the movement and you can cross check the numbers using Google. If you are in Manchester England, there is an old shop near the Arndale centre that sells old watches and jewellery. It has gold lettering and a black store front. I do not recall the name, (I lived in Manchester for one year, so not very familiar with it) but the old gentleman watchmaker in that shop was very knowledgeable and helpful. If your watch turns out to be real, post back and someone can recommend a watchmaker for you.
