    Hi All,

I've been lurking in the shadows here for quite some time.

I've got quite a large collection of 50-60's Omegas, in particular fat lugged Seamasters which I love.

I haven't bought anything new for a while, but just got something I'd like to post a picture of for you all.

Could someone tell me how to post on this forum?

Do I need to use Photobucket or something like that?

    Cheers,

    No worries,

    Like this:

    Pretty happy with this guy.

I have 2 others but none with a factory black dial.

I've got a (hopefully) correct replacement crown on the way as well.

    Thanks for the help Private.

Nice one ......... I always love black dial vintage Omega. Is that stainless steel or gold capped?

It's gold capped, which is not my favorite case as I'd prefer either stainless or solid gold, but the seller is known to me and reliable.

My very first Omega was one of these in stainless, I've still got it.

Welcome! Black and gold is a great combo! So good there is even a song about it!

Are you from Australia? Whereabouts? We have a few Aussies here.

    I'm in Port Macquarie.

I've seen you have some nice pieces as well, it'd be great to compare collections one day.

And here's another one I scored for almost nothing!!

But...the date stamped on the back of the case seems to be a little out and it's got a Connie crown.

I took a punt on this one as the dial and case is good, and it may only be (hopefully) that the case back has been replaced or stamped way after it was bought new.

    Lovely machine!

I've got one of those from Holland.

For me those fat lug cases were the pinnacle of Omegas heyday (my opinion only, no offence meant to Speedy enthusiasts, etc).

I started buying them as an investment, but have never sold any of them and would find it hard to do so...so it's a pretty crap investment as I can't cash in!

I have a fair few "fixer uppers" in the box.

Good dials and case, just need a new crystal and the case cleaned with soap and water (no polishing!).

Post some pics when you get the chance - I love seeing projects when they are all fixed up.

    Mate,

They're all packed down for storage as we just moved interstate, but yes, I'm getting ready to make some moves with my collection and would love to share some pics then.

I like this forum as I've seen some real tolerance and sound advice for the newbies (which you don't always get elsewhere).

This will help prevent potential classic pieces being repainted and buffed crapless, which is a crime.
