Having America turn into a place where long term deals can't be trusted makes the future economic outlook pretty damn bleak.
Just one branch of a tree that is having profound repercussions worldwide. Another was the freezing of Russian assets after the war began.

We certainly do live in interesting times.

Most likely all the other countries doing trade deals with China as they've shown themselves to be more stable and reliable.
From your post to China's ears, apparently...

China says it wants to partner with Canada to push back against American 'bullying'

Of course Canada is not going to fall for this, but there are many countries out there who will certainly turn to China as a major trade partner, when the US proves unreliable. When a major power leaves the world stage, that vacuum will be filled, and likely with someone you don't really want to fill it.

reports to include “unofficial understandings hostile to Christian views"...

Veterans Affairs asks employees to report 'anti-Christian bias' for investigation by new task force

Praise be....
As a veteran who wore Rastafarian dog tags and proudly served with Muslims in the Gulf, I think the Honorable Secretary Doug Collins needs to grow a pair and quit whining.
Obviously, we're straying from tariffs here, but my quick research suggests that of Americans who identify themselves as belonging to a specific religion, 90% are Christian. It strains credulity that people who comprise such an enormous majority should need special protection, and that only they would need such protection. Why not protect members of all religious groups, along with people who identify themselves as atheists (who do face discrimination and bias)? Why only Christians? This seems downright anti-American.

And to put this in context ... this administration has made any policies that aim to protect/support minority groups illegal, but is putting in place special programs to make sure that members of the religious majority are comfortable. Nobody should face discrimination, but based on statistics and history, it's clear which groups are more likely to experience bias and discrimination.

If only we had a Dept of Government Efficiency to organize tariffs and customs. ::facepalm1::

DHL will now suspend consumer shipments ‘from any origin’ that are over $800 because of a tariff-induced backlog at U.S. customs

  • DHL won’t deliver packages to U.S. consumers that have a value above $800 “until further notice,” according to a company statement. The freeze is the result of delays in getting packages through U.S. customs owing to President Donald Trump’s tariff policy.

And pretty soon we need to cat bomb this depressing thread.
I thought the end of the world will be here by now. I glance through this thread it seems end times are upon us. I was a little nervous about India and Pakistan but doesn’t much register on the news. The NYT seems to be becoming the mouth piece for the CCP. I guess the media coverage is just going to keep feeding this. It’s interesting to see. Like some big experiment run by who knows.

So we got politics and religion now. RIP Pope Francis. Couldn’t believe an 88 year old man with scarred lungs survived double pneumonia, that doesn’t happen often.

In side news a friend of mine went a little crazy bought 10k worth of gold last month at Costco. Not all at once and he had to go to several stores and online. He asked my opinion I just said dude sorry I got nothing you gotta make that call yourself it turned out to be a better move than buying a watch I guess.

I also had a 7 hour commute yesterday as a eighteen wheeler carrying hazardous material turned over on the interstate I travel, made me give less of a shit about politics than usual which I didn’t know was possible at this point. I don’t even feel like stirring shit up but let me see if I can try

Looks like a concerted strategy to get the thread shut down. Remember, if you don’t like it, you don’t have to read it.

You are very sensitive.

God Bless America. Saying that has a greater chance of getting the thread shut down. Just watch…….

Between the two of us, I think it's pretty clear who the snowflake is here, interpreting criticism as personal attacks and posting childish memes. I will just report and let the mods decide.

If I wrote what I think MAGA stands for, this thread would be shut down.

I’ll just let you all guess.

It would probably be the personal attack, but, if throwing in the God Bless America and then claiming that's what gets the thread locked makes you feel better I'm for it

I'm also for God Bless america, but I've learned that God tends to bless those that love and respect their neighbors and worry about the least among our community.

Yup they're escalating now because no one is taking the bait.

Let's give a little bit of benefit the doubt, please.

Edit: this forum is mostly better than blatant personal attacks, which is not the same thing as attacking a politician or political stance.

Mostly.
