Here I have for sale my mid 70’s Heuer Carrera barrel-cased Chronograph with a beautiful, clean automatic caliber 12 ticking sweetly within. Here's a quote from Heuerville (https://heuerville.wordpress.com/2011/08/21/carrera-110-573b/) in their description of the 110.573: "This model was the essence of Heuer in the 70’s, gracing the front cover of the 1974 catalogue, and featured in an Italian catalogue that was promoting the Heuer-Ferrari partnership in F1 motorsport, the Carrera being in good company alongside the ChronoSplit and Daytona…" And: "Heuer really did pull a blinder out the bag with the dials in the Barrel cased Carrera series. This version has one of the most attractive dials that Heuer made, with it’s wonderful metallic blue Côtes de Genève detailing. It works so well with the orange hardware too." Page from the Italian catalogue: The dial on mine, as can be seen in the photos, is in excellent, unblemished condition. The crystal: The mineral crystal is excellent, and appears to be almost completely without blemish; although at a certain angle, I've noticed a very faint blemish over the 7-o-clock region; quite difficult to discern or reproduce. It's not seen in the photos. Edit: However, I just noticed there is a water droplet (a sprinkle rain occurred during photo shooting ) over the same region in two of the pics! My example has a very good and unpolished(?) stainless steel case, and measures 39.2mm excluding the crown. Reference number 110.573 and serial number 321.4xx are engraved between the lugs. The case shows the marks and nicks that can be expected from careful use over its 40-year lifetime. The crown and the chronograph buttons are original. The caliber 12 movement is quite attractive and clean, and runs well keeping good time, and the chrono functions fine. Edit: Please note that the seconds hand consistently re-sets to position just before '12' (e.g. 2nd photo). This has not changed for me since I bought it about 16 months ago, and I believe it would be an easy fix by a watchmaker if one chose to do so. The watch has not been serviced while in my possession. Price includes conUS shipping. Additional costs at buyers expense. Pay by FTF in Atlanta, bank transfer, or PayPal by approval. ConUS buyers have a 3 day inspection period, During which the watch can be returned if it is not as described. Please PM me for questions/additional pics... Thanks for looking!
I've added a wrist-shot, some reaction to the watch from 'Heuerville', and some promotional/catalogue/magazine shots from when Ferrari and Heuer were teamed together for F1 in the mid-late 1970's. I've also dropped the price !
This 'race-ready' Heuer is now SOLD. Thank you to the lucky buyer and to our fine forum for the space!
