Well, I already posted a couple of pics in Hans’ Carrera thread (https://omegaforums.net/threads/heuer-carrera-posting-and-sharing-thread.165043/page-5)
but what the hell, here’s a bit more detail.

Although I’m in the middle of a significant downsize of my collection this year due to starting a new business, I’m still on the look out. My main focus over the last 12+ years has undoubtedly been vintage Omega, but with a sprinkling of Heuer, Rolex, Seiko and a few others.
Recently I found myself drawn more and more towards 60’s Heuer and I went a bit crazy with Camaros (justifiably so, they’re awesome). I do find that with watches that are perhaps less often seen or written about, the best thing to do is simply buy some so you feel them in your hand, learn the differences etc (also the excellent https://www.heuercamaro.com by Steve P is a list read).
Anyway, I’d say at the minute I’m more into Heuer than Omega and so when this Carrera popped up I snapped it up. I’ve only owned 1 vintage Carrera before so I’m certainly no expert but I knew enough to know this was a good one.

So what do we have;
An early-ish first ex Carrera 2447s. Not the very first as these came with the eggshell dial, but the next iteration with silver sunburst dial, narrow hour markers and plain hands. This one has a T Swiss dial but still an early enough serial for the large unsigned crown.
So far so good, these aren’t as uncommon as their noir dial brothers and certainly not as rare as the eggshell dial version but what got me excited here was the condition. The dial is flawless. There are literally no scratches, stains, dark marks or damage of any kind. This is very unusual as both the white and silver dials of the 2447 are very prone to age related wear. The lume is also beautiful. A lovely clean and consistent yellow colour, completely original which contrasts beautifully with the bright silver dial.
Furthermore, it seems almost untouched. The case is lovely and sharp, the pushers are original, I believe the crystal is also and the movement is pristine.

So all in all, this is one I wasn’t necessarily looking to add to my collection but sometimes you’ve just got to pounce when the opportunity presents itself.

Here are some pictures when it first arrived. It was actually remarkably clean. Likely given a quick going over by the seller who I believe was simply a reseller.

And here we are now. Still pre service as I can’t stop looking at it, but given another clean and crystal polish.

Really beautiful watch with a perfectly balanced design.

Agree. The design of the 60’s Carreras is second to none imo

David - This is one is really beautiful!

I have followed a few Carreras, both on auctions and also from dealers and private sales, and this one stands out from the crowd!

And it gets better and better every time I look at your pictures.

Congrats, and enjoy your lovey timepiece!
