    Hey everyone,

I am looking at this 1970s(?) Heuer Camaro and was asking for some advice. I have very little knowledge of these and cant find too much online.

My main concern is that there is some discolouration on the tachyscale between 225-150. Do you think this is severe - or simply gunk that may have accumulated and 'could' be removed? Im guessing I wouldn't know conclusively until reviewed by a watchmaker, but how much would it bug you if permanent?

There is also a smudge on the 30 minute counter, however I think this is just on the plexiglass as seen in the 2nd photo.

The seller states that the watch is currently not running, not winding and is unable to provide movement photos :( . The case looks nice though, still has the sunburst finish!

    What are your thoughts?

    Cheers,
    Ed

I saw this on eBay. I gave it a miss because the seller couldn't open the backcase to display the movement.

Yes the case does read 7220n but if it's a wrong movement, I don't think it's worth it. Imo of course.

The discoloration on the dial might suggest moisture damage. Once again I'm not sure if it's worth sourcing a proper dial and/or movement.

What's the price on a non running no movement photo Heuer. ??

Worth a gamble but not for crazy money so look at south of half or a lot less of what a good running one goes for.

I saw this on eBay too - unfortunately from the photos provided in the listing it appears the dial is degraded. Not sure what's up with the movement that it's not winding, but Valjoux 72s aren't too difficult to fix, though parts may be scarce.

Asking prices for these (in good condition of course) are approaching 5 figures at dealers now though, so it could be worth a flyer if you feel like a longer-term project.

This isn’t even close to what it’s worth yet... prepare for a wild ride. This is a 10k watch

Shhhh..... ;) I think I'm might put a bid on at a low price considering the dial damage and potential movement issue/ water damage

Edit: and the price has risen a little overnight!

It’s probably the original movement. Unlikely that they’d replace the old one with a broken one but you never know. Either way as mentioned above these aren’t super complication watches to fix and Valjoux movements are certainly out there.

I can’t see the crown. Is it a signed Heuer crown?

In this condition I don't see it getting towards 10k. I reckon just over 7k US.

Anyone get it? It won't be a minter but will improve considerably with a service, clean and new crystal.
I'm on the lookout for an exotic dial Camaro and was very tempted here but decided to wait.

Hardly...that just sold for half price.
There are Camaro’s and there are Camaros. This is the later

I saw this when it first posted and also passed on it, but having owned a few exotic dial Camaros, the condition of the dial is pretty high up for me.

This would be an ok beater watch, but a similar condition triple register Camaro sold around $4.5 a couple months ago. For that kind of money I'd almost rather just put it towards a cleaner dual register example.

Too many unknowns for me, so I took a pass. Clearly was worth a gamble for someone. Prices are definitely starting to rise on these Camaros especially the rare ones.

    @Davidt Exotic dial you say???
