I haven't bought a Camaro before but have liked them for a while. I have agreed to buy this one and am pretty pleased with it and looking forward to doing the exchange. The reason for my post is to gauge opinion on its condition in comparison to others that exist. Thoughts?

The other thing is, can someone advise on the period correct strap and buckle and where I can pick them up. Thanks again.

Make shure you check out

https://www.heuercamaro.com/

run by our fellow member @SteveP 馃槈

Case looks a bit polished...

Is the sale already firm?

If not what is the asking price?
I asked about polishing and the seller thinks not. He seems pretty straight and his story checks out. He bought it off an old boy who had it from new. The edges are sharp and he is certain it hasn't been polished. Can I ask what you think a reasonable price might be? And yes, the sale is firm with an agreed price.

Very interesting info on that website - I poured over it prior to pressing the button on buying the watch. I wonder what @SteveP 's educated view on the watch is?

That case is very polished down to the point the bevels are rounded, where they should be sharp. Shame, too, as everything else looks pretty nice

My first thought was that the case looks very polished.

More pictures are required to judge the extent

Another.
The general consensus is the watch is over polished. I had to let the seller down who was pretty upset, despite initially stating that he didn't think the case had been polished. As he was asking for an upper quartile price - 拢3100 - it was a no brainer.
Hey ho. Onwards and upwards.

If and when you pick up a Camaro check out Mickael鈥檚 straps at atelier romaine ( France ) he鈥檚 made a couple for Camaros I鈥檝e had
He makes some fantastic pigskin racing straps that are a perfect substitute for corfam. He鈥檚 a couple of examples, 1st is pigskin the other Barenia

Buckles, eBay... sun buckles are what you are after but beware, plenty of fakes in amongst a few real ones.

Unless the markets changed significantly, that鈥檚 a strong price for a silver dial Camaro 45 (which are usually the cheapest after the 30), especially with a polished case and from a private seller.

Right to carry on looking imo.

Yes, this was the general consensus. I would have proceeded with the sale if what I had been told was true, i.e. the seller 'didn't think the case had been polished'. Whether he believed that or not is immaterial, it was not true and therefore I pulled out of the sale.
Onwards and upwards.

Just checked out Atelier Romane's straps on the internet - they look outstanding. Just need a watch to put one on!
