    Hello OF community friends,

My non Omega related quick question that I seek advice for today is that I am currently wearing a beater Oceanographer and it was purchased used. Was serviced before sale by previous owner and keeps great time. My question is regarding the crystal. There are quite a few lines that I can see when I tilt the watch. These are not scratches on top but seems like inside the crystal (perhaps pressure caused them? Not sure).

I am attaching a couple of pics to give an idea. From top it looks great but at an angle you can see these lines. I half-heartedly tried Polywatch yesterday and the scratches have not gone away.

Requesting feedback. Does the crystal need replaced? Should I try polywatch again this time putting more pressure when buffing? I really like the watch so I will look into it if needed but wanted to see if there was a solution besides changing the whole crystal first.

Thank again for your help as always! Mucho appreciated

Sorry, those aren't going to clean up, they are internal fractures. The acrylic has become brittle with age. If they bother you have it replaced.

Another word for this effect is "crazing", and as @X350 XJR mentioned, the defects are internal to the crystal and can't be polished out. You don't necessarily need to replace the crystal unless it really bothers you.
