·So my Dad actually gave this to me last week. I believe that he has had this day date since late 70s or early 80s.
I have always suspected that it was fake as the story is sketchy AF. apparently his old business associate wanted to give him a watch and this is what he ended up with.
I posted it in Rolex forum and folks there seem to agree on real head, fake band. I don't have the tool to open the back, but why would it have a fake band? It seems to work still, although I can't change the date/day (I'm assuming one click inside of setting time? I don't have that click) and I Believe that it has never been serviced.
What's your take on this? I promise that I won't get offended.
