I'm looking for a vintage speedy and found this one. I like it overall but I have doubts regarding the polishing of the case and the damage around the 6 and 12 subdials. The seller calls it natural patina, but I'm not sure what to think about it, please help me with your opinion. The watch is selling for ~1850 usd.

First of all, that is a Speedmaster Day Date, not a Reduced, so take that into account when doing your research. Second, I just did a quick search of watches for sale on Chrono24 and not a single one had similar damage to the dial. So I would say that’s not typical “patina” - it’s damage and the seller as trying to pass it off as something not as bad as it is. You have to decide if you can live with it or not. There are lots of these out there, so I would just keep looking for one that isn’t so obviously damaged.

@Donn Chambers thank you, I just corrected the title. Yes I did the same and didn't find an instance of this kind of patina in this watch. What do you think about the price?

I think it is too much for a watch with a damaged dial, even if it does have a gold bezel. But that’s me. You will have to decide what you are willing to spend.
