Help with Omega ref number

I have a 1963 Seamaster and i need to know the reference number. L6298 is associated with it, i was told that is a case number and the movement is a 550. It is gold filled with a smooth case back.

Anyone have an idea of the ref number?

You have a US cased watch - so it doesn't have an Omega reference number. (if that is what you were after)
IIRC L6298 is the US reference number.
Also why it is a cal 550 with only 17 jewels.
And, agin IIRC, why it has 'unadjusted' on the bridge.
The two latter points are related to reducing import taxes.

It also looks like a repainted dial with the jump between Sea and master.

I dont care and i didnt ask. And it isnt, confirmed. Move on, i dont want this getting all jacked up like the last one as an argument about the dial.

As noted above, it was US-cased (in a Jonell case), so it doesn't have a traditional Swiss Omega reference number. However, this particular watch was such a popular and common model, that you can still find many examples using google, and it even appears in the OVD.

yeah, i can find plenty of matching images. I was wondering if there was a traditional ref number. I'll use the L6298.

Thanks for the info. I will go with L6298.3

OH, that explains why you were so cagey on the last thread, afraid folks would alert you that it is a redial (again). Not sure who you 'confirmed' it with, but unless you have a letter from the head of Omega saying that yours isn't a redial, the folks who've alerted you it IS are basically the authority in Omega dials/redials.

No argument needed, it's obviously repainted. I'm not sure why you keep posting threads asking about this watch. What are you hoping to learn or to do with it?

Sounds like it is for sale and OP doesn’t want to hear negative items that he may need to disclose.

Or just as likely, using these threads to find a buyer, and doesn't like us 'poisoning the well' so to speak by not letting him use a back-door sales-thread on an uninformed person.

Don’t take us for fools here. This isn’t free eBay. You’ve already had 2 threads on this and it ain’t a collector watch so hoping we won’t notice next time you pump it just won’t wash.

Confirmed it is indeed: confirmed as junk.

Potential buyers coming across this thread could be a problem if the sellers says "original dial".

3 local watch builders say it is original . One being a certified Rolex, Tudor and Omega repair tech.
