Hello, how are you guys?I have some watches that belonged originally to my Grandfather. He gave them to my father and some years ago he gave them to me.
I´m not a watch expert. but i loved them since i was kid. I ask you for your help to get any info you have about this watch.
I know that at some point when it belonged to my grandfather. (many many years ago) it fall so the crown get off and the "dome" cracked. since that happened it was stored on a box. I think it has more than 30 years stored. The watch is uncleaned.
I would like in a future to take it to watchmaker so it can be repaired and cleaned properly. And change the cracked "dome" (is that the correct word in English?). And probably the straps too. So i can wear it sometimes.
I would appreciate any help and info you have about this one. And sorry for my English.
    Thanks a lot.

    Amilcar.

Yes, you will want to find a watchmaker to clean, lubricate and adjust the watch before wearing it. If he is competent to service the watch he will also be able to find a replacement crystal (your dome). It also is in need of a stem and winding crown.

We have a pretty global membership here. If you share your location maybe someone can recommend a watchmaker for you.

That's an interesting watch. I believe someone used the vulcain movement in that case and dial. I'm no Vulcain expert but the ones I've seen all had Vulcain on the dial.

    ;)

To the OP, advice from @ahsposo is good, get a watchmaker to service the movement and fix the other bits and you will have a nice watch.

Sorry, I am no use when it comes to your watch, but I am intrigued by your moniker. Do you by any chance own an Amilcar?
