i can’t seem to find any specific subforum rules so forgive me if this is in the wrong place. I don’t know when the cutoff from vintage to modern is here. I need help identifying a watch i own, it’s an Omega Seamaster 120m from 1996. I bought it at an auction and on the warranty-card the reference number is 2311.80.00. I can’t add this watch to my collection on Omegawatches using this ref# so I can’t properly ID it. The closest I got to adding this watch is adding 2311.81.00 (indexes instead of mixed on the hour markers) I left it at an AD to have it serviced and they wrote ref#: 1681501 on the receipt, this didn’t work any better on Omegawatches so now I turn to you. Also: neither the AD nor an independent watch repairshop that works with Omega watches said they knew why.
From what I can tell, the 2311 is the quartz version of the 120, https://www.omegawatches.com/watch-omega-seamaster-120-2311-10-00. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable about 120s will be by soon.
Not sure what the issue is - your watch is a 23118000 just as the card suggests. Not sure why the AD gave you the 1681501 case number - the case number for this watch is 1961501... If you want, I can double check the model number, but you would have to let me see the full serial number (you can send via PM if you like). But I see nothing to suggest that this is not a 23118000. Cheers, Al
