HELP WITH IDENTIFICATION AND CONCERN/ISSUE SPOTTING

Hi everyone, please don’t crucify me, I know I messed up! I’m brand new to watches and got overly excited about what seemed like a great deal on an Omega Seamaster ($400 USD). I ordered it without asking the right questions, like requesting the caseback be opened or verifying key details. The watch hasn’t arrived yet, but I’m already worried about its authenticity because the listing images show some odd lettering, a caseback engraving that is different than most , and no “Swiss Made” at the bottom of the dial. Can anyone help me figure out what to check for when it arrives to confirm if it’s legit or spot potential issues? I’d really appreciate your advice! and I now know what questions to ask..I guess some of us have to learn the hard way.

It’s genuine but to put frank, it’s a complete dog.

The dial is badly repainted, the case is appalling (see where the gold layer has worn through in numerous places) and the hand are incorrect.

Sucks but oh well. this is how you learn though. I will wear it as a reminder to not be a complete idiot lmao.

Also, would it be worth the money to even get it restored or just leave it as is and live with it?

How was it described? If it was described accurately I personally think it’s bad form to ask questions after you’ve committed to buy.

That said, it’s not worth spending a penny on in my opinion. Don’t throw good money after bad. Either return it or keep it as a beater and a reminder to know what you’re buying in future. We all make mistakes when we start collecting.

Here is description. I come from the firearms world where fakes don’t exist, condition is nearly always fixable, and prices are more stable. Have lots to learn. I appreciate your honesty very much.

The dial is not original and untouched. I’d return it.

The dial has been stripped and re-painted, badly.
Try to return it "not as described".

I agree , it says dial is untouched so is not as described . Return it and lesson learnt
