Help with hands for 1946 Omega

Good morning,

I recently purchased this Omega knowing the hands were wrong. I’ve changed out the crystal and serviced the movement but cannot find the correct hands. I’m pretty sure the originals were the luminous baron style with fine points. Any suggestions on where to find NOS or new reproduction hands?

Hey guys. Never got a reply on this post. Still looking for the fine point luminous baton hands. I’m pretty sure it’s a 28.10 movement but if anyone has info or advice on where to find a pair I’d greatly appreciate it.

You probably don't need me to tell you this, but setting a search on eBay and being patient is your best bet. With 191 more substantial posts you can start a WTB thread on this forum. Good luck.

Thanks Dan. I’ve got my hook out but no catch yet. I was hoping someone who’s a watchmaker might have a pair from a donor or could give me part numbers to aid in my search.

Well, unfortunately, the WTB section is reserved for members with 200 posts, so your best bet might be to send PMs to some of the watchmakers on the forum. You should be able to figure that out with some reading or a search.

As Dan said eBay search is probably going to be your best bet.

Did you ask the person who serviced it about sourcing hands?

Simply having the black paint removed from your current hands will make a world of difference until you can find the hands you want.

If not mistaken. Luminous baton models in image just under the gold Dauphine hand

Don't have any of the hands in image

I had a Seamaster with wrong hands (2 actually), took me almost a year to find them but sure enough, one set popped up on a random Omega hand lot on eBay, and the other from a member here. It does take time but the patience is rewarded.

Hey guys, I know this post is over a year old but I’m still trying to source a set of hands. I’ve done more research and found a few examples of both the dauphine and baton. What do you guys think?

I am not sure if part numbers will be useful for a watch this age. I agree with your description of the correct hands, based on a Google search for the reference. I would get a precise measurement of the distance from center post to minute track. If you can find hands with the correct length and general shape the improvements of the appearance will be great. I would search through the parts for sale forum here as well.

'Baton with fine points' is not a naming convention I've seen used.

Search for 'luminous syringe' hands. You'll need to have the hour and minute hole diameters and length measurements ready.
