I recently bought a tuning fork watch like the one depicted. Simple question, is it okay to leave the crown at the second position as way of turning the watch off? I haven't been able to find a direct answer on this forum or from any resources online.

A word of caution.

These f300s are old and, in my limited experience, they are susceptible to going wrong if you’re frequently adjusting the time and date, which is likely if you’re turning it off and on.

Compared to the cost of servicing/repairing the watch (and parts can be hard to find) the cost of replacing a battery is minimal.

I try and limit the adjustment I make to mine to forwarding the date at the end of February, April, June, September and November 😉.

If the humming bothers you, leave the watch in another room when you’re not wearing it.

Hey! Thank you for the reply. The humming doesn’t bother me at all. Im more worried that the battery will die out fast if left on all the time. But if the cost of replacing the battery is much cheaper than repairs, I’m all for leaving it on.
