Help with Authentication! Vintage Omega Cosmic Moon Phase

Hello! I'm looking to purchase a vintage Omega Cosmic Moon Phase (1969) and I came across this piece going for $3K. Seller says that all parts - dial included - are original. This is my first time purchasing a vintage watch so I'd love any expert advice or comments about this watch. In particular - any insight as to whether or not it is authentic? Thank you!

I would question the age of the watch, more likely to be 1949 rather than 1969, these were made in the late 40s and 1950s. Most of these for sale will be redials, renovated within an inch of their life to look almost brand new. Some look quite good and others don't, I suppose it depends who did the work. Genuine untouched dials are hard to find, but some people don't mind paying for a 65 year old watch that looks like it was made yesterday.

Another issue is size, most of these are incredibly small by today's standards - 34mm etc.

Definite a redial and as has been said dating to the early fifties.

OP what's with the lug at one o clock, it looks like it has lost its gold cap on the side?

3k is way too much for this one, I'd pass on it completely and keep looking, they are still out there and to be found with original dials but it does take some patience.

Here's a rose gold jumbo 2486 I picked up last month, quite substantial at 37mm ex crown. It's not perfect by any means but I do find it very characterful on the wrist and managed to snag it for a very modest outlay 😀

And to my eye the color of the crown (yellow) doesn't match the color of the gold cap (pink).
