    Hi guys!
    I could use some help with a watch Im considering.
    I am an avid vintage Omega collector but I dont know what I should look for when buying a Railmaster so I hope i could borrow your expertise.
    A couple a days ago an old watch collector contacted me and sent me a photo of a Railmaster he would like to sell.
    I have bought a few watches from him before and know I can trust him, but I also know these watches are faked alot.
    Is there anything spesific I should look for when I inspect the watch?
    Do you guys know which ref. numbers and movements that is correct for these watches?
    Im not sure if I can ask, but what would be a fair price?

    The photo shows the dial with an uneven patina, the tension ring is wrong for the watch, but the case seems to be original.

    I appreciate all the advice I can get :)

    @CajunTiger Thanks!
    Does the lume under "6" look right to you? It seems to cover a bit of the "Swiss made" marking.

    Ill ask for more photos and Ill inspect the watch myself before the purchase.
    If everything checks out, do you know what would be a fair market value?

    Agree this dial looks legit as do hands. Double dibs for me.
    Cal for earlier examples (with this hands) would be 284. Cal 285 and 286 also correct for later examples.
    Go for it!

    I think the crown is a replacement. Other than that the condition seems fair.

    I think this is an optical illusion caused by the curvature of the crystal. More dial shots should answer this question. Pending more pics, RM looks nice to me.

    The darned things look so much alike...and I was seriously debating letting my ‘57 Railmaster LE go in favor of that Ranchero...somehow they became 1 in my mind. And so the mental decline begins!
