Does anyone have any idea what is this and what was used for?

That is really strange what materials is the “top” made of.,

 

Its steel and there is a mirror inside and the glass is triangle shaped.

 

Looks like a stamp, and the embossed plate that had the graphic is gone.

 

It is not a stamp for sure.

 

A small blotter missing the insert?

 

Where did it originate from did you find it in any type of business

 

My best guess is a very early refractor possibly a early refractometer? For testing sugar % in jam etc. The glass would be used to see how far the light bends through the glass with jam for example on one side of it. But I could be a million miles away

It could be one of the low tech alien anal probes I’ve heard about, never seen one, they had my laying stomach down on the mother ship, only felt it

Ok so DRGM is just like a German copyright that protected a design for three years. DRGM started being used in 1891 and ended 1952 so the number underneath if you can find a copyright list will tell you what tool this copyright protected. If the list still exists and someone has put it online
