Help with 166010 dial's originality

You and I are but I’m not sure that the OP is, depending on what he paid for this. 166.010s are costing a bit at present.

I bought it at a decent price. Can alway return it to the seller, but I am in the middle, half want to, half dont. It does look good in person, but half feels right, half dont. I am in the dark.

I bought it from a local dealer, so, I do not know. You mentioned about Omega service dial, could I get more detail on that, I have searched the forum and googled it and still can not find relative information.

There was a thread a couple of months ago about a person who send a watch to omega and received back a genuine omega service dial. Script looked exactly the same. But I can not find that thread.

Edit: I've seen the bigger script more often especially on the SM 600 serie. Conclusion was there also omega service dial.

But a service dial with this special make up would be strange. So if would have to put my money on it I would not buy it. Too many doubts.

One thing I will mention, Omega dials with a horizontal band like that were seen in the f300 era and just before ie circa “67-75 so while it may be a service replacement, the design does have precedence for the era. The indices are probably painted black rather than onyx.

I have double check it, the indices are onyx 🙁 some more close up pics in different angles. It is the combination between straight and circle brushing, the lines are evenly brushed which make me think redialers do not have the skill to do so. But anything is posible, I dont know.

Well, that’s an important point because if you like it, then perhaps you should keep it and enjoy it 😀
